Riding
at Bear Basin Ranch
All
three outfitters at Bear Basin ranch offer adventure
horse-riding programs, and Bear Basin Packtrips also offers
day rides and half-day rides
as well. Horse
riding programs take place either on Bear Basin's 3,500 acres
and adjacent private and BLM lands, in the nearby Sangre de Cristo
Wilderness Area, or in Great Sand Dunes National Park. Adventure
Specialists also runs packtrip programs in Mexico
and Peru.

The ranch is home to 60 head of Appaloosa and Paint horses, mostly
born and bred on the ranch, which are used by all three outfitters.
Bear
Basin Packtrips offers a variety of 5-day
adventure packtrip programs, 3-day
and weekend programs, and day rides
and half-day rides as well. These programs include rides at
the Ranch, in the Sangres, and in Great Sand Dunes
National Park.

Adventure
Specialists runs custom packtrip
programs at the Ranch and in the Sangres, and
they run a number of high-adventure programs abroad in the Peruvian
Andes and Mexico's Copper Canyon.
KB Mountain Adventures offers horseback
riding as part of its multi-day, multi-adventure 'Mountain
Sports Week' program, and also offers horseback riding as part
of its weekend programs and custom
programs.
